Health & safety
Safety is designed into every trip
Every trip we run is audited, walked in advance and accompanied. This is what that means in practice for the schools, teachers and parents who trust us with their students.
Before a trip is released
No itinerary goes on sale until we have seen it ourselves.
- All transport, accommodation and visits are audited to the requirements of our standards.
- Before a trip is released, we make a reconnaissance visit.
- The itinerary is aligned with your curriculum during the consultation, so the learning and the logistics are planned together.
On the ground
- Each group has a professional guide with them from start to end, in every destination.
- Our standard group is 19 students, so every student is visible and gets the most attention.
- Bigger groups are handled by our team, supported by the right ratio of guides.
Insurance and emergencies
- Travel insurance is compulsory for the duration of travel. When a trip's price covers it, the trip page lists it under "What's included"; otherwise we confirm the cover students need before you book.
- We offer a 24-hour helpline. Our staff follow clear guidelines to ensure a fast and efficient response to your call.
- Emergency planning is part of the preparation every group goes through before departure.
Documents and visas
- ReadTrips assists in booking appointments and submits your application where applicable, as per the embassy or consulate's advice.
- ReadTrips does not guarantee the issuance of visas, nor act as an agent of an embassy or consulate.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that you have all necessary travel and health documents before departure. We cannot accept liability for any costs incurred due to incorrect passports and visas.
How we prepare students
Every group goes through the same preparation before departure.
- Travel pack
- Meet the guide
- Emergency planning
