Overview

The trip

This trip takes students to the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) in the Swiss Alps, the only official World Scout Centre, founded in 1923 and open to Scouts and non-Scouts alike.

Set beside a glacier-fed river at 1,200 metres in the Bernese Alps, the centre brings together young people from around the world for activities built on teamwork, resilience, and cooperation, not competition. Students take part in outdoor and alpine activities, group challenges, and international exchange with visiting groups from other countries.

Learning outcomes

  • Develop resilience and independence through an unfamiliar, nature-based environment
  • Build international friendships through exchange with Scout and non-Scout groups from other countries
